Marathon participant sacrificed medal to save kitten (3 photos)
In the United States, Chicago Marathon participant Sarah Bohan quit the race to save a kitten.
As the organizers of the event said, the runner kept a record pace, but suddenly noticed a thin and frightened kitten under the bridge. This happened a few kilometers from the finish.
“I thought it was more important to help the kitten. It was just human instinct,” she later said. She already has two cats, and she always tries to help homeless animals.
As a result, the athlete ran with the kitten for about two kilometers, inviting spectators to pick it up. Finally, one (or one) of them shouted to her that he would like to shelter the baby. Sarah handed him the kitten, but she herself was left without a record and without a medal. The organizers put out a call on social networks, looking for the pet's owner to offer him free veterinary services.
