19 transformations of celebrities in 2024 (20 photos)
This year, many stars surprised the public with dramatic changes in their appearance. Some resorted to drugs and plastic surgery, others simply changed their image. It's time to take stock and choose the most striking transformation.
1. Tammy Slayton
Tammy Slayton became a celebrity after participating in the TLC reality show "Big Sisters." Now in its sixth season, the show follows the daily lives of sisters from Kentucky and their attempts to lose weight. In November, Tammy hit a major milestone when she weighed 280 pounds.
"I think the last time I weighed this much was in fourth or fifth grade," the star shared.
In 2022, she underwent bariatric surgery and lost about 280 pounds.
2. Bulgarian Princess Kalina
During a summer stroll through Sofia, accompanied by her husband Antonio Jose "Kitin" Munoz and their son Simeon Hassan Munoz, the royal showed off her muscular arms.
Kalina is the fifth child and only daughter of King Simeon II and his wife Margarita.
She makes no secret of her love for exercise: "I like the philosophy of fitness. Staying in shape, striving for balance and harmony. Mens sana in corpore sano. If I don't work out, I feel bad."
The 52-year-old princess works out four times a week and also enjoys kitesurfing and horse riding.
3. Dave Bautista
At the Toronto Film Festival, the actor and WWE star amazed fans with his appearance.
"I've lost a lot of weight. I probably haven't been this light since I was 19," Dave said in an interview.
He managed to lose 75 pounds thanks to a plant-based diet. He explained: "I'm mostly vegan, except for eggs, because I can't imagine my breakfast without them."
4. Donatella Versace
In early December, the Italian designer and creative director of the Versace fashion house attended the premiere of the musical "The Devil Wears Prada." The public noticed how beautiful Donatella had become and suggested that Photoshop, filters, or plastic surgery were used to create her "new face."
In 2020, she admitted: "I don't even know what my natural hair color is. What is natural? What is it? I don't believe in absolute naturalness for women. For me, natural is something about vegetables."
5. Christina Aguilera
In September, the singer visited the Barry's fitness studio in West Hollywood, where she celebrated the 25th anniversary of her debut album. The shots of a significantly thinner Christina caused heated discussions.
In an interview with Glamour magazine, the Grammy Award winner said: "Now I'm a mature woman, and I don't care about other people's opinions. I'm not going to take it to heart anymore. Other people's opinions of me are none of my business."
6. Olivier Martinez
In September, the French actor, known for the films "One, Two, Three... Freeze", "The Hussar on the Roof", "Before Night Falls" and "Unfaithful", suddenly turned gray and became almost unrecognizable.
Olivier dated Halle Berry from 2010 to 2013, and they had a son, Maceo. Now the former lovers are engaged in a fierce legal battle for custody of their 10-year-old child.
7. Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay's appearance at the premiere of the Christmas film "Our Little Secret" shocked fans. According to many, the actress had plastic surgery and removed her signature freckles with a laser.
Earlier, the "Mean Girls" star attributed her transformation to proper skin care: "Now I adhere to the most basic rules. I realized that there is no point in using something that cannot be used during pregnancy. Why would I need it?"
She also said that she tried skin treatments such as Morpheus8. This is a radiofrequency microneedling procedure with minimal recovery time.
8. Mike Myers
In April, the Emmy Award winner made an appearance at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood for the 49th annual AFI Life Achievement Awards. His cropped haircut was a far cry from the slicked-back brown hairstyle he's worn throughout his career.
During the event to honor Nicole Kidman's remarkable achievements, Mike took to the stage wearing a mask — a nod to Stanley Kubrick's 1999 film Eyes Wide Shut, in which the actress starred alongside Tom Cruise.
9. Katy Perry
On December 16, 2024, Katy Perry performed on stage at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia as part of iHeartRadio Q102's Jingle Ball. Once again, all attention was focused on her appearance. The singer is accused of taking "Ozempic".
However, Katy previously denied using this drug. According to an insider, she lost weight thanks to the diet of her fiancé Orlando Bloom, who encouraged her to "give up tons of processed food." In addition, after meeting the actor, Perry practically does not drink alcohol.
10. Chris Evans
Chris Evans surprised fans with a new look at the premiere of the film "Mission: Red", appearing with long hair and a beard.
The star of "The Avengers" posed with his colleagues Dwayne Johnson and J.K. Simmons. In the holiday action film, Chris plays the role of Jack O'Malley, a hacker hired for a secret operation to save Santa Claus.
11. Barbie Ferreira
The Euphoria actress posted a new selfie in November, showing off her weight loss results. Followers have no doubt that Ozempic worked here too.
One of the actress's friends shared: "After leaving Euphoria, Barbie had fewer opportunities to realize herself. She lost weight to revive her career and better demonstrate her talents. She has a huge desire to succeed in this field, and she is truly talented."
12. Lizzo
The rapper has been working hard this year.
"When after 5 months of weight training and dieting you finally get accused of using Ozempic," Melissa Vivian Jefferson, born, wrote under one of her videos on social media.
Lizzo works out with renowned Hollywood star trainer Corey Calliet.
13. Serena Williams
In December, a noticeably thinner Serena posted a photo from her private jet.
The legendary tennis player has repeatedly talked about her difficult path to slimness after the birth of her second child: “I do HIIT training — high-intensity interval training. I also do stretching, strength training, but mostly it’s cardio training.”
14. Jessica Simpson
After extreme weight loss, the singer admitted that she had finally made a comeback. Simpson released her last album 14 years ago. And her transformation became a kind of "apology to herself for putting up with things she didn't deserve." The main motivation was the desire to show her children that she was a pop star.
15. Sharon Osbourne
In 2021, Ozzy Osbourne's wife had a facelift: "It was the worst decision I ever made. I looked like Cyclops. I had one eye here and one eye there, my mouth was all crooked. I had to wait to get it done."
However, Sharon sparked more plastic surgery rumors last month when she was photographed taking a stroll in Los Angeles.
16. Amanda Bynes
Bynes has been replaced in recent years. It seems she doesn’t even remember herself as the main character of the Nickelodeon series “The Amanda Show.”
She dyed her hair brunette in the summer, and in December she released a clothing line in collaboration with designer Austin Babbitt. It is worth noting that Amanda graduated from the California Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in 2019.
17. Mel Gibson
In August, a gray-haired Mel showed up in casual attire at the Vince Vaughn Hollywood Walk of Fame awards ceremony. Netizens joke that he took his style cues from Adam Sandler.
Mel and Vince worked together on 2016's Hacksaw Ridge and 2018's Dragged Away.
18. Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande alarmed fans at the premiere of the Broadway musical Wicked. The singer showed up in a pink strapless dress that emphasized her thin frame.
The "Thank U, Next" singer recently spoke out about the constant attention to her body: "I've been a specimen in a petri dish since I was 16, 17. It's very disturbing and horrible, no matter where or how much it happens."
19. Ice Spice
This year, Ice Spice said goodbye to her signature fiery locks. The 24-year-old rapper showed off her new hairstyle at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in October.
"I've been a blonde, a brown-haired woman, a brunette, but I've never been a redhead, so I don't know, I just like it," she previously said of her hair.
As a schoolgirl, she was self-conscious about her curly hair. She told Interview magazine, "My dad helped me overcome that insecurity. He always said, 'You're beautiful, wear your natural hair.' I liked to straighten it and pretend it wasn't curly."
