The Smartest Person in the World Shared His Thoughts on the Afterlife (4 photos)

What awaits us after death? The man with one of the highest IQs in history claims to know the answer to this existential question.

Christopher Langan, 72, is a rancher and former bar bouncer with an IQ of 190-210 (30-50 points higher than Albert Einstein). He has formulated a hypothesis called the Cognitive Theoretical Model of the Universe (CTMU), which he says explains the connection between the mind and reality.

Christopher believes that after death we move from one form of existence to another, while remaining part of the computing system of reality. This means that our consciousness, or soul, moves to another dimension or plane of existence, which we cannot reach during life.

It is unknown what this new dimension will look like and what will happen to the soul. However, Langan believes that traditional ideas about heaven and hell are too superficial. At the same time, his theory suggests a transition to a completely new state of being.

The American explained his concept in the podcast "The Theory of Everything" with Kurt Jamungal.

He said that death is the end of the relationship with the physical body you currently have. When you exit this reality, you return to the source. You may be provided with a replacement body so that you can continue your existence.

According to Langan, after the transition to a new level of existence, you are unlikely to remember who you were before. But the memories are preserved - nothing escapes the computational structure.

"Memories can always be brought back, but there's usually no reason to, you know? Why cling to memories of a world in which you no longer exist?"

"So there are certain automatic psychological processes that occur at the moment of death. You enter a state similar to meditation. You watch everything change, but you don't cease to exist. Perhaps all of your incarnations are occurring meta-simultaneously."

But this state is not the afterlife. It's more like existing inside a supercomputer. The afterlife is something entirely different. It involves the soul or consciousness moving beyond the physical or mental self.

Christopher calls his CTMU hypothesis a true "Theory of Everything." It essentially explains that reality is a self-aware construct endowed with intelligence.

Langan views God as a manifestation of certain properties that we can observe around us, but not necessarily as a deity in the sky.
