A romantic proposal of marriage was marred by theft
A tourist almost lost his phone while filming his girlfriend's proposal.
In Spain, a thief almost stole a man's phone after he put it aside to film his girlfriend's proposal.
A British man named Charlie took his girlfriend Hannah to Barcelona for the weekend. The couple were walking near the Arc de Triomphe when Charlie asked Hannah to take a photo as a keepsake. The man turned on the video and leaned the phone against the wall.
The footage shows that the girl had no idea about the surprise that was coming. After posing for the photo, she went to the phone to pick it up, but at that moment her boyfriend got down on one knee, took a ring out of his pocket and confessed his love to her.
When the couple starts hugging, the video is interrupted because an unknown man knocks the phone over with a coat. The stranger turned out to be a thief who was watching the couple and, taking advantage of the moment, allegedly accidentally knocked over the gadget, then picked it up and put it in his pocket.
Hannah noticed this and told Charlie. He reacted quickly and caught up with the kidnapper. The man did not resist and quickly returned the phone.
"I just wanted to propose to my girlfriend, and some nice guy wanted to steal my phone. It kind of ruined the moment," the Briton admitted, then praised his future wife for her vigilance.
