We have already gotten used to the cuteness of charming puppies and adorable kittens. And the desire to cuddle them seems quite natural.

But some representatives of wild nature from different countries are not only not inferior in cuteness to their domestic counterparts, but in some places even surpass them. It is problematic to refrain from hugging when you see these little dogs. Although you should not cuddle wild animals to avoid injuries, admiring them in photos is not only not dangerous, but also very useful.

1. Springbok

This small antelope from Africa is known for its monogamy. Animals demonstrate long-term, even lifelong, bonds between pairs.

2. Rabbit-tailed Bandicoot

This is a species of marsupial mammal from the rabbit bandicoot family. They live in Australia. They are usually solitary marsupials, but can sometimes be seen living in pairs.

3. Japanese Weasel

Japan has banned the hunting of female weasels in order to preserve the species. Over the past three generations, the population of this species of weasel has decreased by 25%.

4. Pygmy hippopotamus

These African natives are rare, with an estimated 3,000 individuals in the wild. This is largely due to poaching, as well as habitat loss from conversion of forests to farmland.

5. Red Panda (Cat Bear)

These little fox-like cuties use their long furry tails to keep warm during the winter months. Red pandas are agile and usually prefer to live in trees.

6. Dik-dik

Dik-diks get their name from their unique alarm calls. Both males and females produce a distinctive, high-pitched whistle that warns other animals of predators.

7. Malayan Tapir

Malayan tapirs are easily recognized by the distinctive light-colored stripe that extends from the shoulders to the end of the back. This pattern is used for camouflage, as the pigmentation disrupts the outline, making it more difficult to detect.

8. Margay (long-tailed cat)

A mammal of the cat family that lives in the humid, dense evergreen forests of South and Central America. Their paws are specially adapted to easily climb tree trunks and branches.

9. Capybara

The Capybara is the largest living rodent in the world (and a trend animal). They live in swampy, grassy areas along bodies of water in South America.

10. Taeniura Stingray

This species of stingray lies motionless for most of the day and does not show aggression towards people. There are cases when they swam up to divers and examined them.

11. Slow loris

The slow loris is an incredibly cute primate from Southeast Asia. But don't relax: the animal has a special gland on the inside of its forearm that secretes a toxic substance. When the primate feels threatened, it raises its paws and licks the gland. Saliva and fat mix, forming a poisonous mixture. When the loris bites another animal, the poison enters the victim's bloodstream.

12. American Mink

Although this little cutie lives in North America, human intervention has led to the expansion of its habitat.

13. Patagonian Mara

The rodent looks like a rabbit, has long ears and limbs. Animals are monogamous throughout their lives and find a new partner only after the death of the previous one.

14. Mangalica

A Hungarian breed of domestic pig. The curly fur of the Mangalica makes it look like a sheep.

15. Elephant Shrew

These African babies are called elephant shrews because of their trunk-like nose. They are very difficult to catch, and the little ones are well camouflaged, so they are rarely seen.

16. Marsupial Anteater

The striped animal hunts underground termites with its sticky tongue. Today, there are less than 1,000 of these adorable marsupials left in the wild.

17. Tarsier

Like the slow loris, tarsiers have enormous eyes. In some cases, their eyeballs are larger than their entire brains.

18. Malayan Flying Lemur

Of course, the Malayan Flying Lemur doesn't actually fly. The membrane that connects its neck to its toes allows it to leap through the trees with incredible grace.

19. Wombat

These Australian cuties resemble a cross between a bear and a hamster. They are small, muscular marsupials with short legs and impressive weight.

20. Dugong

Dugongs are the only remaining members of the Dugonia family and are currently the closest relatives of manatees.
