Policeman stole food from a store
A CCTV camera installed in a supermarket in Bideford (Devon, England) captured the theft of products. The thief turned out to be a polite police officer.
A polite customer is not always an honest customer. This was confirmed by an employee of a supermarket in Bideford (Devon, England).
A police officer approached the checkout with a bag of sweets, paid, and, having sincerely thanked the seller, left. However, the store employee did not enjoy for long what a well-mannered person had visited him.
It turned out that 44-year-old police officer Christopher Spence had managed to walk around the store and secretly stuff several packages of food, including nuts and cheese, into his backpack. After that, he approached the seller and paid for only one item.
Christopher was sentenced to 18 months probation and 150 hours of community service. He also had to pay £300 in legal costs and £30 compensation to Lidl. And of course, he has no place in the police force. Local police chiefs and Christopher's former colleagues said they were deeply ashamed of him.
