A couple from the USA stole clothes worth $1 million to take beautiful photos for social networks (3 photos)

44-year-old Jadion Richards and 45-year-old Akwele Laws-Richards from Connecticut are a glamorous couple of social media influencers. Their accounts feature posts with the latest trendy new items from Chanel, Balmain, Gucci, Dolce&Gabbana and rare vintage Versace items. It turned out that while the couple was building a successful life on social networks, taking photos on the red carpet of social events, a criminal case was opened against them. It turns out that successful influencers created their images from stolen items. Stores began to notice a large shortage, contacted the police, and eventually the investigation led to Jadion and Akwele.

The couple was caught in the Lululemon sportswear store. It turned out that their scheme was simple: a man and a woman would go into the store, try on a lot of different things, buy the cheapest item, and hide the more expensive one under their clothes. An alarm would go off at the exit - then one of the couple would show the purchased item with a receipt, and the second one would not be checked, so the thieves would leave the boutique unhindered.



After a search of the Richards' home, twelve suitcases with expensive items were found; the investigation estimates them at more than $50,000. But that's only part of the haul: in total, the police assume that the Richards collected a million dollars' worth of bows.

The couple is currently charged with eight thefts in Colorado and seven thefts in Utah. The Richards couple was released on bail. The influencers explained their detention by racial hostility on the part of the police.
