A guy from India made a hearing aid for his grandmother from AirPods Pro 2 headphones (3 photos)
AirPods Pro 2 headphones support the medical-grade "Hearing Aid" function. But, alas, this feature only works in the US and Canada. However, one guy from India was able to hack the headphones using a microwave, so his granny could use a hearing aid. Changing the IP did not help in solving the problem: it was all due to various checks from Apple that determine the real location. So the grandson assembled a "Faraday cage" from a microwave, he placed an iPad with an ESP32 board there: it jammed Wi-Fi and sent various requests through hundreds of SSID addresses in California. And it worked - after 4 hours, the tablet thought that it was really in the US. The "Hearing" function worked. After all, amazing guys live in India.
