Japan at the end of the 19th century was a very backward country with an archaic society.
Fujiyama is the main mountain in Japan, or rather an active stratovolcano. Its height is 3776 meters. The last time the volcano erupted was in the early 18th century.
The Japanese consider the mountain sacred, a symbol of the nation, so they call it Fuji-san with respect.

Sri Lanka is currently the third largest tea producer in the world, after China and India. The first plantations appeared on the island during the British colonial period in the mid-19th century.
One of the main entrepreneurs who first bought up all the plantations and then began to develop new ones was Thomas Lipton. I think his name is familiar to you.

The Rajputs were the highest secular caste of Hindus. The Chohans, descendants of warrior princes, held the highest position among the Rajput clans.

The Gibraltar Peninsula, located at the far southern tip of Iberia, is of great strategic importance due to its position on the Strait of Gibraltar, where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. The Carignano Bridge is a bridge in Genoa that connects the hills of Sarzano and Carignano, bypassing the Rivo Torbido valley. It was built between 1718 and 1724.
