A man saved a fox, and now it doesn't want to return to the wild (3 photos + 1 video)
Seven years ago, a fox cub was brought to a wildlife sanctuary in Nuneaton, England, in a very poor condition.
The sanctuary's owner, Jeff Grewcock, believes the animal was poisoned. He spent the next year caring for the cub, who he named Sweep. Jeff nursed the cub back to health, but the fox now refuses to return to the wild and asks for daily cuddles from his savior.
"When we first got the fox, we didn't think there was much hope that she would recover. She was so lethargic and sick that I had to bottle feed her for months and give her injections of saline at night. Luckily, with medication and good care, Sweep pulled through," Grewcock recalls.
But Jeff faced another problem: the fox had become attached to him and now does not want to return to the wild. For seven years, Sweep has lived in the sanctuary with animals undergoing rehabilitation there. “I think this is her way of thanking us for all the care we give her,” says the owner of the sanctuary.
