Rolls-Royce's Bespoke personalization division has unveiled another unique Phantom. The long-wheelbase sedan has been created over the past three years to order for a client, and the premiere is timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of Goldfinger, the third film about British super spy James Bond. The new model is called Phantom Goldfinger.

In the 1964 film, the antagonist of agent 007 is the millionaire criminal Auric Goldfinger, who is engaged in gold smuggling. He melts down the gold and makes parts for his Phantom III Sedanca de Ville. According to the plot, the villain's main goal is to destroy the US gold reserves in order to increase the price of his own reserves of the precious metal.

The modern Phantom has a gold and black body color, repeating the color scheme of the car from the film, and many other references to the film. For example, the signature "Spirit of Ecstasy" figurehead looks like it is made of pure gold, which was covered with silver for camouflage, partially erased. In reality, everything is exactly the opposite: the mascot was made of silver and applied an uneven coating of 18-karat gold.

Most of the interior details are also finished with gold. A secret compartment was equipped on the center console, in which a real gold bar is stored, shaped like a miniature Phantom itself. In the film, Bond played golf with Goldfinger, betting a bar of Nazi gold raised from a sunken ship. Rolls-Royce designers decided to play up this theme even further by placing a gold golf club in the boot of the Phantom Goldfinger.

The dashboard, known as the Gallery, features an image of the Furka Pass in the Swiss Alps, the road Bond used to chase Goldfinger. The signature ceiling lighting reproduces a real map of the starry sky over this area, as it was at the time of filming. The inside of the glove compartment lid is engraved with the famous quote in which Goldfinger confesses his love for gold to Bond. The picnic tables are decorated with a fictional map of the Fort Knox military base, where the gold reserves are stored. The VIN plate ending in 007 is also gold plated.
