Not a day without a gift: a homeless dog came up with a way to thank a person for food (6 photos + 2 video)
Snickers always tries to please his breadwinner with a nice little thing. It can be empty plastic bags, bottles, sticks, or children's toys. 
A stray dog named Snickers from Thailand became a real star of social networks after user Niall Harbison told her story on his X (Twitter). The man, who cares for homeless animals, immediately noticed that this dog was different from his fellow tribesmen.
He says that whenever he delivers food for the animals, Snickers never comes to him "empty-handed." She always carries something in her mouth as a token of gratitude. 
"I feed 80 street dogs every morning in Thailand, and while they are all grateful, one dog has surpassed all expectations in his gratitude. Her name is Snickers, and every day she brings me a gift. As soon as she hears a bicycle coming, she will find something nice to bring me," Harbison says. 
The animal usually comes for food in the company of its friends - dogs named Mars Bar, Milky Way, Rolo and Bumper. Unlike them, she spends time choosing a present for the breadwinner. Among them are shoes, a children's toy excavator and a coconut.
"The gifts change every day and are very thoughtful. For example, there were lots of sticks. Shoes are also quite common. I think Snickers is trying to tell me that I need something more durable than the flip-flops I'm currently wearing. She even brought me a toy excavator. Sometimes the gift will be an old plastic bag, but it's the way she presents them with such pride and enthusiasm that makes all the gifts truly unique. There have been coconuts, water bottles, bags of sweets and little bowls that she ate out of. Snickers is always very creative and thoughtful in choosing gifts," the man notes.
Snickers also helps clean up the environment by collecting food wrappers, water bottles and other trash, which Niall then sorts and takes away for recycling.
"All the other dogs are worried about is chasing the bike and getting their breakfast. You can see how hard Snickers works to give me his daily gift. A very grateful and kind street dog is Snickers. We could all learn a lot from him," Niall emphasizes.
Harbison has set a goal of rescuing 10,000 dogs a month. He encourages his 418,000 X followers and 1.2 million Instagram followers* to donate to Happy Doggo, an animal welfare foundation he founded in early 2021 while recovering from a drug overdose that nearly killed him.

Since the launch of his charity project, Niall has opened a shelter for sick street dogs, providing them with a place to recover.
