A woman underwent 6 plastic surgeries in 8 hours and died (3 photos)

Police are investigating a plastic surgeon whose 24-year-old patient died after an eight-hour operation. Viviane Lira Monte found the plastic surgeon online in the city of Sobral, in the Brazilian state of Ceará. The woman had planned several procedures, including liposuction and a breast reduction.





Monte went under the knife on August 31. The patient developed complications after the operation. She spent 22 days in intensive care before dying of heart failure on September 26.

Vivian returned from the hospital just 15 hours after the operation, her condition rapidly deteriorating, her family said. The woman was hospitalized.

Doctors managed to treat a pulmonary embolism, a life-threatening condition in which an artery in the lung becomes blocked. However, they were unable to treat a massive infection in the abdomen.



Widower Renan Santiago said: "She was vomiting blood and was not stable. The operation had caused a lot of inflammation and infection. She couldn't breathe, but the doctors managed to resuscitate her and intubate her. We watched her fade away. It was 22 days of suffering. Vivian spoke to us in a very weak voice and had difficulty breathing. She knew she was dying."



A man blames a plastic surgeon. He offered his wife a discount if she underwent several procedures at once. Monte paid 300 thousand reais for a new figure.

"The surgeon saw that she was not well, but he went to Rio de Janeiro. He abandoned her and did not help her. When I contacted him and told him that she was in critical condition in intensive care, he assured me that she would be fine, and it was only a matter of time," the widower added.

The surgeon visited his patient just a few hours before her death.
