Until the middle of the last century, there were two large Alpine villages on this site, with large stone houses, a church and a pointed bell tower from the 14th century. In 1950, they decided to flood them due to the construction of a dam - the country was in dire need of electricity. The residents were against it, but no one listened to them - mountain rivers filled the valley, burying 163 houses. Only the bell tower became the only reminder that people once lived here.
