A strong wind blew away the underwear of the Chinese
In the Chinese city of Chongqing, the wind blew away a large number of panties and bras that were drying on balconies.
Due to the increasing wind, many residents of the Chinese city of Chongqing were left without panties. This was reported by The Guardian.
Wind gusts accelerated to 34 meters per second after the authorities tried to interrupt the dry weather and artificially induce precipitation. This had an unexpected effect: the storm not only knocked down trees and billboards, but also blew away underwear that was drying on balconies. Since Chongqing is a huge city with a population of 32 million, an impressive number of panties and bras flew across the sky.
Numerous videos on the Douyin app (the Chinese equivalent of TikTok) show underwear falling from balconies due to strong winds, hanging on trees and lying in the streets. “The people of Chongqing will never forget this difficult day,” joked Chinese social media.
"I just went outside when it started pouring rain and panties started falling from the sky," one user wrote on Weibo. "It's actually quite romantic," another commenter said. "You can pick up your lover's underwear on the street while walking." A third user complained that his brand new Calvin Klein panties had disappeared after the storm.
