A CCTV camera can sometimes show you things you would never even think about. Who in their right mind would expect a postman delivering letters to someone's apartment to sniff someone's sweaty sneakers in the hallway? 
However, that's exactly what happened in Aberdeen, Scotland, the other day.
A Ring doorbell camera captured a postman doing his job — sorting through letters before dropping them into a mailbox. But then something unexpected happens: he goes over to the shoe rack on the landing, picks up a child's trainer, sniffs it - and only then leaves.
Mother-of-two Jade Mullen, who lives in the flat, posted the video on social media, where it quickly gained more than half a million views. She is outraged by what happened and urges other parents to be vigilant.
"I just wanted to warn everyone to beware of this postman. He stopped to sniff my daughter's shoes - what a creep!" Jade wrote.
The reaction from internet users was extremely negative. One commenter wrote: "Wow, what strange behavior." Another said: "I hope you reported this, it looks really nasty."
A spokesperson for the postal service said they were aware of the incident and take any violations of their employee standards of conduct seriously. Local management is investigating.
Police confirmed they had also investigated the incident but found no evidence of foul play: "On Wednesday 28 August we received a report of a male acting suspiciously in the Balnagask Circle area of Aberdeen. An investigation was carried out and there was no evidence of foul play. Appropriate advice was given."
