A modder with the nickname shirokii has released an add-on to the old Doom 2 from 1994. The craftsman has added many different "goodies" that make the game more realistic. Despite its popularity, graphics are still important for our time. The game is already 30 years old and now you can play it again, plunge into the world of nostalgia and marvel at the innovations.
So, ray tracing was added to the game, color rendering, volumetric lighting, shadows, reflections, water, and realistic blood simulation were slightly adjusted. In addition, it replaces all 2D sprites with voxels, thanks to which enemies and objects get a three-dimensional look. Another feature is that the mod can be run on HDR monitors.
The mod is compatible with the original Steam version, no conflicts were noticed.
These improvements radically change the atmosphere of the game, raising it to a completely new level.
