A walrus named Wally accidentally got into a funny situation: he fell asleep on an iceberg somewhere in the Arctic, and as a result, he ended up off the coast of Ireland. At first, Wally climbed onto fishing boats, which could not support him and sank, and then a special raft was built for him. After resting, the animal set off on its return journey!

Wally the walrus apparently fell asleep on an iceberg that was drifting from the Arctic to Ireland, and quickly became the center of attention of both locals and Internet users. 
People fell in love with Wally. Some were so taken with the walrus that he became a source of inspiration for them, resulting in paintings and a children's book.
However, not everything was rosy. While traveling along the western coast of Europe, Wally eventually tired and began looking for places to rest and recuperate.

According to marine biologist J.C. Dombrowski, although walruses are very good swimmers and navigate in the water, such stories are extremely rare, and the iceberg theory does not hold water.
To move an iceberg so far from where it should be, let alone for a walrus to sleep on it for the entire journey, would require unique tides and currents, which makes the situation even more unlikely and suggests that Wally's journey to Western Europe could have been different, the expert explained.
