Abandoned and forgotten: a blogger showed the huge palace of the King of Saudi Arabia in Spain (5 photos + 1 video)

The massive €350 million palace once housed a mosque, hospital, helipad and room for the king's 13 wives.

Famous British blogger Jake, who explores abandoned buildings around the world, has managed to sneak into the luxurious palace of Saudi King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The €350 million palace in the Spanish resort of Marbella has been abandoned since 2005, when the king died.

The majestic building, which once housed the ruler's 13 wives, also houses a hospital, helipad and mosque.

The Mar Mar Palace is located on the Costa del Sol's "Golden Mile" in the billionaire resort of Marbella.

The palace, abandoned for nearly two decades, was built as a replica of the White House in 1982, when King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud inherited the throne after the death of his brother Khaled.

Famous YouTube blogger Jake told The Sun that he had his eye on the majestic ruins back in 2018. However, up until last year, the palace was carefully guarded by dogs and guards.

But when Jake tried his luck again, it turned out that the palace was completely empty and badly damaged. However, you can still see the remains of luxury here: a huge marble staircase, round bathtubs and jacuzzis, mosaic wall decoration. In one of the rooms, he even found a miniature copy of the entire estate, which, however, occupied an entire room.

In an interview, Jake said that the door handles and knobs throughout the building are "definitely real 24-karat gold."

King Fahd used the palace to host extravagant events involving his 13 wives, 3,000 family and friends, and a massive staff of 500. And they were all given luxurious accommodations.

The royal estate was previously valued at over 350 million euros: 200 acres of land, four villas, a number of swimming pools, a helipad, a private clinic and even a mosque. In the basement, the blogger found a large pool with a jacuzzi and a huge safe room, the size of an apartment.

"It was surreal how huge this place was. It was a real shock to see how the king lived. But his bedroom was littered with empty boxes and torn wires. I found documents confirming that the king's maids received 200,000 euros a month for working as housekeepers," Jake noted.

The vandals got into the palace before Jake, so he said that a lot was destroyed, the garden was overgrown with weeds, and the furniture was broken. And apparently, this happened after the death of the king in 2005, since everything in the palace is covered in a thick layer of dust.

After the death of the king, Marbella declared three days of mourning. And now there is a street named after him.

King Fahd is remembered for the fact that his grand visits brought in huge profits for Marbella.
