We take you for walks in a stroller: what the world's longest cat looks like (5 photos)
Social media users suspect that the Maine Coon photos were edited in Photoshop. They do not believe that the animal could grow to such amazing dimensions.
A cat named Barivel has been officially recognized as the longest in the world — 3 feet 11 inches (about 119 cm). The owners of the record holder, Edgar Scandura and Cinzia Tinnirello from Italy, call him nothing less than a great gift of fate.
The handsome Maine Coon first broke the record when he was only two years old, but even then he was longer than a baseball bat.
"Baryvel is a bit shy. When people see him, they can't get over the shock, but for us it's a small gift. A big gift, to be more precise," laughs Edgar, who got the pet in 2016.
However, some social media users suspect that the Maine Coon's photos were processed in graphic editors, in particular Photoshop. They do not believe that the animal could grow to such amazing dimensions.
According to the owner, the cat is very calm, peaceful, affectionate and has a good appetite, in particular, he loves to eat cookies, chicken, tuna and other types of fish. And in order to walk him, you have to take a special cart with you.
"It's unusual to see a cat in a stroller in the middle of the street. Passers-by constantly ask to take a photo of him and pet him," the owners say.
In the photos published online, you can see Barivel playing with his toys, wearing sunglasses and a Santa hat.
"I say he's like a Buddhist cat - very special," Edgar sums up.
