Fight your bears yourself: Japanese hunters have given up (5 photos)

As villages close to forests become deserted, wild animals become bolder and expand their habitat. In particular, bears crawl out onto the streets of villages and even small towns.

This self-propelled carapuccia, I love it! The gloomy Japanese genius invented

There are not enough mechanical chthons for everyone, so the Japanese authorities decided to attract hunters to regulate the population of predators. Moreover, in the north of Japan there are already several victims of wild bears.

219 wounded and 6 dead in 2024 alone, to be exact. Quite a lot for the modern world - 219 attacks! In April and May, regional administrations received reports of 3,000 encounters with bears on the streets, which is 500 more than last year.

Are you a hunter or what?

The hunters said the work wasn't worth the risk. Hunters! Isn't that what they essentially should be doing? But they said hunting bears was like fighting US commandos.

In Japanese folklore there are many horror stories about bears as the largest and most dangerous predators.

Why commandos, why from the USA? What is the use of such hunters and why do they call themselves that?! So many questions, and for some reason it's so funny. Hunters who are afraid to hunt. We are waiting for drivers who are afraid of traffic and rescuers on the tower who do not know how to swim.

It is not worth it

Hunters also said they would reconsider if the government increased the fee for killing a bear. And it is no longer clear whether they are really bargaining or coming up with excuses for their cowardice.

The situation is particularly acute in Hokkaido, where people keep dogs to protect them or scare away bears.

Barking dogs scare away bears, BUT NOT AS WELL AS A WOLF

Then the authorities turned to the Hokkaido Hunters Association for help. 43 hunters were asked to work as forest guards. True, this is a low-paid job, they only pay 10,300 yen per day. In Japan, this is considered a low rate, and if a person has a gun, then he can afford to earn more!

On the other hand, the hunters here are all 60-70 years old, because old people hunt out of boredom. That is, they do it for fun, but they believe that the risk of meeting a bear is not even worth paying for their hobby.

Or maybe the problem is that hunters are really older people. And this is another social problem of Japan's rapidly aging population.

A little more of my favorite wolf for the end!

Who knew that the population would age, and BEARS would take away their living space. Life is damn unpredictable.
