In Taiwan, a 58-year-old man had a drink after a hard day's work and decided to do a little lap swimming. While swimming, he fell asleep, and after waking up he realized that he had been swept out to sea.
In Taiwan, fishermen rescued a man who fell asleep on an inflatable ring and ended up in the open sea.
On July 7, the crew of a fishing boat heading to the port of New Taipei noticed a strange object on the water a few kilometers from the coast. As the fishermen swam closer, it became clear that the object was a large children's inflatable swimming ring, which a man was holding onto.
After boarding, the 58-year-old Taiwanese said that his name was Hung Nan and the day before he decided to go for a short lap swim to freshen up after a day of work. He remembered drinking a little, getting into the water around six o'clock in the evening and lying down on the circle. The man woke up a few hours later on the open sea.
In total he spent about 19 hours there. Nan was dehydrated but otherwise healthy. He was taken to the hospital, from where he was soon released home.
