A Perm veterinary clinic recently shared both a funny and sad photo of a furry patient. The cat's mouth jammed, so he spent some time with a surprised expression on his muzzle.

Photos of a cat with its mouth open have appeared online - you must agree, it looks funny. However, the situation itself, which the veterinarians described, turned out to be terrible.

“A funny cat in a not very funny situation,” says dentist Ilya Martyshenko. — A patient was admitted with a dislocated jaw. The owners didn’t know how it happened - they came home, and their furry friend greeted them with a surprised look. A week ago, my jaw was already set in another clinic.

Veterinarians are familiar with this problem and its solution: first, doctors put the jaw in its natural position, and then fix it for a couple of weeks.

According to Ilya Martyshenko, jaw dislocation in brachycephalic breeds is often associated with their anatomical features - for example, improper closure of teeth or instability of joints.
