“I have everything I need”: a woman lives in a garage to save on rent (3 photos)
Cherry Tung decided that she did not need to live in a luxurious place, but rather save money. Her living space is small, but has a bathroom, bedroom, living room and kitchen.
Cherry Tung from the US said she moved into a garage to save on rent. The woman spoke about the pros and cons of living in a cramped space. She shared all the details in one of the videos on her YouTube channel.
The garage has been converted into a tiny home that includes a bathroom, bedroom, living room and kitchen. The space is quite cramped, all surfaces are littered with boxes and bags.
Cherry, a Los Angeles native, said she decided to move into the garage because she realized that in her early twenties she didn't need to live in a fancy place, but would rather save money.
“It’s very difficult to save if you have to pay half your salary for rent,” she said.
Cherry, who previously had to live in her car, spoke about the pros and cons of living in a garage. According to her, in addition to being cheap, she likes the fact that there are no noisy neighbors above her that disturb her sleep at night. She added that the garage has a separate entrance to the main house, where the owner lives, which allows her to feel more independent.
However, there are many disadvantages to such a life, such as the fact that it is too cold in winter due to poor insulation. Cherry added that she has difficulty receiving packages because postmen have difficulty determining where she lives.
The girl also said that her garage is infested with ants and pests, which are “impossible” to get rid of. Her friends and colleagues think she's "crazy" for living in a garage and often make comments to her about it. However, viewers supported the American in the comments.
"It's amazing that you've done so much to minimize your expenses," "Great garage makeover," "Wow! I'm very impressed with your sacrifices for long-term goals," they wrote.
