Underwater military museum in Jordan (4 photos + 1 video)

The Underwater War Museum is a new and unique diving site in Aqaba. The museum attracts divers due to the rich marine life on former combat vehicles.





The sunken military equipment creates a bridge between Jordan's turbulent past and a peaceful future. The museum project was developed by several Jordanian authorities after a month of planning and a week of flooding of vehicles.



The museum location was chosen on a sandy area to attract snorkelers and divers of various levels. The museum displays various army equipment built in the UK, USA and South Africa and used by the Jordanian army until 2000.

The museum displays the famous Chieftain tanks, known in the Middle East as Khalid Shir tanks.
