There is still a long way to go to a full-fledged Terminator, but work in this direction is progressing confidently.
Tiangong is a development of the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center. The robot is full-size, humanoid, and electrically driven. His height is 163 cm, weight is 43 kg. It is equipped with advanced 3D vision sensors and a high-precision measurement unit capable of performing 550 trillion operations per second, and also runs at speeds of up to 6 km/h.
This robot has open source and compatible extensibility, can realize open access to communication interfaces, flexibly expand software, hardware and other functional modules, and fully meet the needs of various application scenarios.
Tiangong is self-learning and adopts self-developed completely new motor skills of the humanoid robot.
The Chinese are confident that the creation of such robots is comparable in importance to humanity with the development of a computer and the Internet. And the demand for robots will be even greater than for cars now.
Based on factors such as falling robot prices, the new domestic humanoid robot market is expected to reach 503.5 billion yuan by 2030, according to Western Securities calculations.
The Chinese forecasts are too optimistic; they estimate that over the next 6 years, the cumulative growth rate of the new market for humanoid robots will reach 96%, and the new world market for humanoid robots will be about 1.02 trillion yuan.
One and a half billion Chinese are not enough for us, so they decided to make the same number of humanoid robots.
