Second whistleblower about Boeing production problems found dead in the US (3 photos)

Informant Joshua Dean in the investigation into defects in the products of the aircraft manufacturer Boeing, in particular, the 737 MAX airliners, Joshua Dean died in the United States.





Joshua Dean testified in a lawsuit against shareholders of Boeing supplier Spirit AeroSystems. In 2022, he discovered gross violations in the production of the Boeing 737 MAX. Management, Dean said, ignored the problems, and Dean was fired. The specialist called the dismissal retaliation for his statements and filed a complaint with the US Federal Aviation Administration.

Dean was 45 years old; according to friends, he led an exceptionally healthy lifestyle and was in good health. Two weeks ago, Dean was admitted to the hospital with breathing complaints. Doctors discovered an infection in him, but could not save him - the strong Dean “burned out” in two weeks.



Another whistleblower about Boeing production problems died in March. The body of 62-year-old John Barnett was found in a car in a hotel parking lot. Barnett died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Charleston County police. On the day the body was discovered, Barnett was scheduled to testify in a lawsuit against Boeing. Barnett's acquaintances argued that he could not commit suicide.
