Good Sunday morning, friends. There are a lot of weekends ahead, which means you can relax and read what’s going on with your neighbors overseas. And there, as always, there is stability. 
According to statistics, about 1,500 railway incidents occurred in the United States in 2023. And if you look into the past, these are not the biggest numbers yet. According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, there were 54,539 train derailments in the United States between 1990 and 2022—an average of 1,704 per year. Well, God bless her, with statistics.
Another BNSF freight train derailed Friday at 1:45 pm ET near Manuelito, New Mexico, the National Transportation Safety Board said.
"Preliminary information we have indicates that the train derailed at least 22 cars, including several propane tank cars," the NTSB said in a statement Saturday.
The train collapsed beautifully - with a spill of propane, gasoline and a beautiful fire that was miraculous for the local ecology for many hours. The locals had to be evacuated. It was not possible to declare the absence of harmful spills, as is usually done.
There are no casualties or injuries. The cause of the crash is currently being investigated.
The accident caused traffic disruptions, forcing the temporary closure of part of Interstate 40 and railroad tracks. Service between Albuquerque and Los Angeles has been suspended.
Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs said she was "deeply concerned" by the crash. Locals are unhappy with regular problems with the railway, but they cannot influence the current situation.
