Stole £100,000 and almost killed: an antiques dealer was robbed and beaten in London
Bandits armed with sledgehammers broke into the shop of one of London's most famous antiques dealers, Ian Towning.
He saw men in balaclavas approaching the store and tried to close the doors, but was unable to do so. The robbers smashed several counters and then attacked the owner himself.
Criminals stole £100,000 worth of jewellery. Towning's forehead was cut with a hammer - he tried to fight the bandits and miraculously survived.
