The Thousand-Armed Guanyin Dance is a mesmerizing performance based on the Buddhist legend of Guanyin, the goddess of mercy. According to legend, Guanyin, hearing the groans of the suffering in the world, decided to postpone her enlightenment in order to help them. As a sign of compassion, a thousand hands grew from her so that she could extend them to all those in need.
