Currently, robots from the Munich company Navel Robotics with built-in ChatGPT are being tested, and if the tests are successful, then this model can completely replace communication with grandchildren.

Very often, German pensioners kept in nursing homes are deprived of regular communication with relatives. A German startup decided to fix this problem and began producing robotic grandchildren.

The 70-centimeter robot is able to answer any question and is able to listen to stories from people’s lives, as well as establish visual contact with a person and determine the emotions of its interlocutor.

Grandmothers enjoy knitting outfits for the robot.

“It’s absolutely amazing how open and curious the residents are towards Emma,” says Vanessa Münzenmayer, 33, director of the Wiesengrund nursing home of the Evangelical Nursing Home Foundation.

"Emma is sweet and gets along so well with people. They often want to pat her on the head and call her 'our baby.'

The founder of the company, Claude Toussaint, noted that older people do not perceive the robot as a machine, but treat it like a small child who loves to chat.
