In South Korea, a 79-year-old actor was convicted of sexual harassment due to a kiss on the cheek (5 photos)

The project was released in 2021 and for some time flew into the TOP of the most popular Netflix series. Everyone talked about him, so he set many people on edge.

But “The Game” angered one Korean lady the most.

She watched the series, saw an elderly actor there, and ran to the police. There she stated that in 2017 she crossed paths with Oh Yeon-soo’s grandfather somewhere, and this “scoundrel” hugged her and kissed her on the cheek. He didn’t do anything else - just kiss and hug, like teenagers.

This was enough to trigger accusations of sexual harassment and an investigation. It went on for several months and ended in nothing - in April 2022 the case was closed.



But the victim was not satisfied with this and insisted on a re-investigation. And it has already led to a verdict: the 79-year-old grandfather was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for two years, and was also ordered to complete a 40-hour sex offender program. To put it simply, the actor received a suspended sentence. If he doesn’t commit any offenses during these two years, he won’t go to prison. This is common practice in South Korea.



Oh Yong Soo strongly disagrees with the verdict and will appeal. He is not going to become the Korean Gerard Depardieu, whom women accuse of all mortal sins.

Let's remember: almost two dozen women accused Depardieu of sexual harassment and rape. One of the ladies was already over sixty, but she did not wait for the trial and committed suicide. It later turned out that she had serious mental problems. The rape scandal is in full swing, the actor has already been “canceled” in France.
