A Russian robbed an icon in a Krasnodar church

He brought out 420 (!) gold and silver crosses.

A 32-year-old resident of Nizhny and his 33-year-old local friend came to the St. Elias Church, approached the icon, but did not intend to pray. Instead, they used a screwdriver to open the protective glass and steal jewelry that is placed near the face of the saint according to Orthodox tradition. The parishioners noticed this. The thieves threw away the loot and fled in a car without license plates.
