Rolls-Royce showed an exclusive roadster for 30 million dollars (21 photos)
Rolls-Royce has unveiled the third exclusive roadster from the very limited Droptail series, called Arcadia. Like previous examples, it features original exterior and interior trim with a variety of specially designed materials and accessories. According to some reports, the creation of a unique car cost its customer $30 million.
The Rolls-Royce Arcadia looks a little more restrained than other roadsters from the Droptail series, largely due to the fact that the customer chose a simple white color for the body. However, the company's specialists found a way to add "the illusion of infinite depth" to the paint using flakes of aluminum and glass.
The interior of the roadster is richly trimmed with natural wood - the design consists of 233 individual elements. The creators of Arcadia were forced to develop a new way of attaching wooden parts to a carbon base. It is claimed that Formula 1 technology was used in this area. In total, the salon took more than 8 thousand hours of work.
One of the most notable elements of the Arcadia's interior is the clock built into the front panel, which took two years to develop and another five months to manufacture. The watch's hands are just 0.1 millimeters thick, and the pattern surrounding the dial consists of 119 facets - a reference to the age of the Rolls-Royce brand at the time of the chronograph's creation.
The Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail is equipped with a standard engine for the company - a V12 with a volume of 6.75 liters. It works with an 8-speed automatic transmission and develops about 600 horsepower and 840 Nm. The exclusive roadster should take about 5 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h.
