A video of a daring robbery that occurred in Totton (Hampshire, UK) has appeared on the Internet. Thieves in balaclavas rammed a car into a vape shop, then entered the store and looted it.
Thieves spent five minutes extensively clearing the shelves of the Tidal Vape vape shop in Totton.
CCTV footage shows the attackers' car crashing into the glass doors, after which two people go inside and fill their bags with whatever they can get their hands on.
After spending nearly five minutes clearing out the shelves, the couple begins to fumble with a bag full of merchandise and struggle to haul it into their pickup truck.
Tidal Vape CEO Ben Richardson was awakened by his alarm shortly after the hack, which occurred at approximately 3.15am on Sunday. The 33-year-old owner of 24 shops across the South Coast said renovating the branch in Totton, near Southampton, Hampshire, would cost tens of thousands of pounds.
“The alarm went off two or three times and I looked at the CCTV to see which store was targeted,” Ben Richardson said. “When I saw the damage, I realized that everything was very serious. It was the first time I had seen something so serious. I was very surprised by the amount of damage done to the store. Watching the CCTV footage left me in shock.”
Richardson said the thieves were after disposable vapes, but could not determine exactly how many were stolen. However, he added: “The number is very, very large. We had supplies in the backyard that they took too.”
The store will be boarded up and remain closed until renovations are completed, he said. In the meantime, the police will investigate the robbery case.
