The plumber mistakenly returned the neighbor's cat to the client (7 photos + 1 video)
Earlier this year, Scott McKendry carried out work on Emma Pickering's home in Hampshire, UK. He received strict instructions not to let Bertie the cat outside.
After some time, the plumber realized that he had accidentally left the front door open. A 47-year-old man looked outside and saw a black cat wandering nearby.
In the hilarious CCTV footage, McKendry slowly approaches the cat and calls him Bertie. Then he quickly grabs the four-legged creature and runs to the house. Then he discovers that the door is locked.
Meanwhile, the pet is scratching and biting, and the plumber is desperately trying to calm him down. Here a neighbor comes to the rescue. She manages to open the door, they go inside and see the real Bertie.
Barely holding the "doppelganger", Scott shouts: "Oh no, it's not Bertie!"
The worker immediately releases the prisoner, who, as he later found out, turned out to be Alfie from the next street and “doesn’t like being picked up at all.”
The homeowner returned 10 minutes later and saw the plumber covered in scratches.
"Bertie was lying on the floor. He is the calmest cat in the world. I understood that he could not attack Scott. I looked out the window and saw Alfie. This cat is much larger, and Bertie has a small white spot on his chest," she said British.
The woman imagined what could have happened and decided to watch the CCTV footage.
Emma admitted: “I watched the recording. I can’t tell you how much I laughed. I almost fell to the floor. My husband had the same reaction.”
"Scott is a wonderful person. I think it's a real testament to his character. He could have just let Alfie go, but he tried to hold on."
The victim admitted: “The cat bit my hand. He scratched my whole head and arms.”
Scott was so upset about what happened that he asked Emma to ask Alfie's owner if everything was okay with the cat.
The impostor is completely fine and does not seem to be worried.
