Quoridor (Corridor) - board game (1997)

13 February 2024
Quoridor is a two-player abstract strategy board game developed by Mirk Marchesi and published in 1997 by Gigamic. It has received recognition for its simple rules, deep strategy and elegant design.

Game process:

The game takes place on a grid of 8x8 squares. Each player has a piece and ten fences. On a player's turn, they can either move their piece one space in any direction (including diagonals) or place one of their fences on the playing field. Fences can be placed horizontally or vertically and they block the movement of tiles.

Purpose of the game:

The goal of the game is to be the first to move your piece to the opposite side of the playing field. However, players can also win by locking their opponent's piece so that it cannot move.
