A Russian woman sat down on an escalator and almost lost her life
The girl clearly demonstrated why you should not sit on the steps of the escalator.
The incident occurred on January 21 at the Petrogradskaya metro station. The careless girl, despite a strict ban, decided to sit on the escalator step and paid the price. She was very lucky that only her jacket was “chewed” and after that her hair did not get caught in the comb. Fortunately, a concerned young man was nearby, who helped her quickly free herself from the sleeves of her jacket.
The St. Petersburg metro noted that not only the girl, but also the escalator attendant violated the rules - she should have immediately stopped the operation of the moving staircase.
“In this situation, a metro employee should have informed all the employees involved (we have internal instructions where calls should go), and the second thing she should have done was stop the escalator. Here she did not work promptly,” said a metro press secretary Julia Shavel.
She added that the investigation into the incident has not yet been completed. The attendant will probably be fired, since she already has one disciplinary sanction. Yulia Shavel recalled that the passenger grossly violated subparagraph 3 of paragraph 32 (“Passengers are prohibited from: running along an escalator, travelator, throwing any objects, sitting, lying ... on the steps of an escalator”). The prosecutor's office also got involved in the work after the video was published.
