Imagine that you have moved and found strange objects left behind by the previous occupants or owners in your new home. Creepy dolls, clowns, ritual symbols or some other sinister thing. How to deal with this? The mood will clearly be spoiled - like the poor fellows from this collection.

1. “I bought a 200-year-old apartment and discovered a hidden door under the stairs.”

“There was nothing said either verbally or in documents that there was anything underneath us.”

2. “Found this in the closet of the house we bought 2 years ago.”

“I was taking our refrigerators out of storage for the summer and found this above the garage. On the table in the middle lies a “singing” conch shell, a jar with a bunch of sage and a vase with ashes. If anyone knows what this is, please let me know..."

3. “I discovered a house in my attic.”

“I finally got back up there to get some good pictures. Everything is just as creepy as I remember. They also left a still running toilet in the basement. There is a hole leading to another attic, but I can't get the ladder up there unless I take the ladder I used to get into the attic with me. But I don’t want to close the only path to salvation.”

4. “My house will be 100 years old in 5 years, and I don’t have a creepy basement, but I do have a completely creepy underground bomb shelter in the backyard.”

“This is an underground bomb shelter. It was built in 1961 and I have the original owner's manual and bill of sale. The electricity no longer works, but the water still flows. It's in Florida."

5. “My friend went to look at a house to rent and this is what he found in the garden.”

6. “I just moved and the lights in the garage weren’t working, so I was looking for a new light bulb in one of the closets.”

7. “We found this mask under the floor in our bedroom. So what now?

“My husband was taking apart the floorboards and found this mask. It appears to be a death mask—a plaster cast of the face of a middle-aged woman. There is nothing written on the cast, just a small hook on the back that looks like the mask could be hung on a wall. We live in a classic Victorian house that was converted into apartments some time ago. I don't know what to do with this mask. Is selling it a bad omen? I don't know how else to get rid of it. I don’t want to keep it in the apartment, it’s too creepy.”

8. “One of the shelves in the closet of our new house turned out to be a Ouija board.”

9. “Ghastly discovery during final inspection of our new home.”

10. “I recently moved to a new house. Today the weather was good and I decided to open the window."

11. “It was in the backyard of my new house.”

12. “Found a bulletproof vest in a box hidden in the wall.”

“I was cleaning a newly rented apartment, wiping down the walls and filling up holes. Having cut through one of the walls, I looked inside in search of signs of rodents and noticed a small wooden box. It was fastened with 9 screws. Opening it, I found a rather old bulletproof vest. I asked the owner of the apartment if it was his, and he said that the vest must have belonged to a woman who lived here about 10 years ago and turned out to be a major criminal. This woman was arrested one night because one of her guns misfired and hit the ceiling of her owner's apartment. When police searched the apartment, they found 16 firearms andmaterials for making explosives. The woman is still in prison.”

13. “Saw this on a virtual house tour. What are the chances that we will buy this house and then a week later the doll will be back in it?”

14. “A friend bought a house with a doll in it. They refuse to touch her."

15. “We'll have to clean up here. What a great start to our holiday."

16. "Miniature door leading to extra room inside basement bedroom"

“I don’t quite understand what this is - a vegetable cellar, a shelter or just a basement?”

17. “We bought a house and found this in the bathroom wall in the master bedroom. Why, just why?

18. “Stayed at a friend’s house. Her mother collects dolls and has a separate room for them."

19. “Found this in my new house.”

20. “My parents’ house was destroyed by a tornado a year and a half ago. When they moved back last week and started unpacking, they found this in a box."

“They have never seen this doll before and have no idea where it came from. But now it sits on a shelf in their living room. My parents are Texans, originally from Massachusetts, and my mom loves witches, having grown up so close to Salem. My grandmother even claims that one of our distant ancestors was accused of witchcraft and burned at the stake in Salem. My mother thinks the doll is funny and doesn't want to get rid of it. Every time their dog barks, she jokes, 'She must sense the evil in that doll.'"

21. “I found this under the carpet. Any idea what this is?”

22. “Found it in the locker of my new home.”

“I’m not a religious person, but it still scared me.”

23. “I moved to a new house and found this on my fence.”

24. “I noticed this thing near the fence of my new house. I think I'll leave it there."

25. “The handprint of a child that I found under the wallpaper in my new house.”
