What cosmetics should you use if your husband beats you? (4 photos + 1 video)

The owner of a cosmetics store in Kazakhstan presented a video dedicated to the problem of domestic violence. Akim Zhuldyz gives advice on how to disguise a beating.

The owner of the Moodmart store, located in the city of Almaty, appears in the frame wearing makeup. She does not recommend using acids, because “there is enough toxicity in our lives.”

Her favorites are creams from Manyo and Abib. But she asks not to mix these products with bepanthen, which is used for wound healing.

Well, a bruise under the eye is well masked by cream, base and thick foundation. Kiko Milano lipstick will hide blood stains on your lips, and you will even get the effect of kissed lips. The heroine calls herself a happy wife and loving mother.

The video received more than 1.6 million views.

In 2023, more than 4,000 women in Kazakhstan suffered from domestic violence, 80 of them were killed.

In October, Amantay Zharkynbek, a lawmaker from the ruling Amanat political party, said that if a man is sentenced to 15 days in jail for domestic violence, his wife should receive the same punishment for “provoking” the incident.

Last year, human rights group Human Rights Watch (HRW) called on the country to tighten laws on domestic violence.

Mihra Rittmann, senior researcher for Central Asia at HRW, said: "Kazakhstan's existing laws essentially leave victims of domestic violence in the lurch, and women have paid a heavy price for the delay in reforming the law. Lawmakers must urgently seize this chance to ensure new laws fully protected women from domestic violence."

According to the current legislation of Kazakhstan, domestic violence is not a separate criminal offense. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has repeatedly called for more attention to be paid to this problem.

HRW also reported that the country's police receive more than 100,000 domestic violence reports a year.

“In the first 10 months of 2022, domestic violence was the cause of death of 93 women, and 794 criminal cases were opened on charges of causing moderate to severe bodily harm.”
