In India, a monkey stole a man's iPhone, climbed onto the roof of a building with it, and returned the phone only after receiving soda.
According to eyewitnesses, a crowd of people gathered near the man who had lost his phone and wanted to help him. At first they tried to scare the monkey, and then they began to lure it towards them, but these attempts were unsuccessful. 
It was only after someone in the crowd offered the monkey a bottle of soda that the animal became interested in the exchange. The primate, having received the drink, threw the phone down to the crowd. The incident amused social media users.
“The monkeys have a new system for how to get their food,” commentators joke.
