It is normal for a wind farm pole to sway. However, if the swaying becomes too strong, it can damage the wind farm. Therefore, wind farms are designed with sway in mind.

Dynamic control is also used. Dynamic control uses sensors to monitor the sway of the pole and then automatically adjusts the position of the windmill blades to reduce the sway.
