Having lost 2 thousand dollars, a pensioner from Russia set off a fireworks display at Sberbank
The 59-year-old was persuaded to collect credits and then set fireworks on fire.
The evening of January 17 in Kotlas passed "with a spark." A 59-year-old man entered a Sberbank branch and staged a pyrotechnic show. A friend brought a box of fireworks with him, left it in the operating room and lit the fuse. Bank visitors did not expect such animation; many hurried to leave. The absolutely calm visitor who watched the spectacle and was in no hurry to leave the room deserved special attention.
Investigators and firefighters arrived at the scene. Because The bank building was filled with smoke and was checked for fire.
Law enforcement officers examined surveillance cameras and identified the hooligan, who was soon detained. It turned out that the man acted on a tip from telephone scammers who, posing as Central Bank specialists, convinced the Kotlas resident of the need to protect his savings. Under this pretext, the man, by some crooked logic, took out several loans for a total amount of about 2 thousand dollars, and then, in order to allegedly help the police detain the scammers, he came to the bank branch and set fireworks on fire.
As a result, a criminal case was opened against the pyromaniac under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Hooliganism”. The punishment for this offense can be quite severe - up to 7 years in prison. Now the pensioner is under recognizance not to leave the place.
