Danish woman Sophie Juel-Andersen confronted a group of 20 people with a fact: she would prepare all the dishes for Christmas dinner from “garbage food.” We are talking about the products that the girl finds in garbage containers. 
Judging by the girl’s blog, her relatives have long been accustomed to her non-standard menu and are not surprised by anything.
"I don't have to leave the house and shop for Christmas" — 29-year-old Sophie boasted in an interview with reporters. She said that due to price wars before the holidays, supermarkets throw out tons of perfectly suitable products - vegetables, fruits, desserts and meat. Freegans (ideological anti-consumers) take advantage of this, and even Christmas, as we see, is no exception.
The girl first became acquainted with the contents of garbage containers three years ago. Since then, her enthusiasm has only grown stronger. The girl claims that scavenger hunting allows her to spend a maximum of $90 a month on food. Sophie, by the way, runs a popular TikTok, where she shares the results of her forays.
For Christmas dinner, the girl has already found a sufficient amount of herbs, vegetables, cheese, chicken, nuts, fruits, ready-made salads and dressings. Sophie insists that the guests are not in danger because she considers herself a “real garbage gourmet.” All products from containers undergo careful selection.
“I would never bring anything dirty or expired, I always make sure I can actually eat the food before I bring it home,” said the Danish woman.
