An electronic cigarette exploded in a man's pocket.
In the UK, an e-cigarette battery exploded in a truck driver's pocket. The incident was caught on video.
The incident took place in Draftford, Kent, and was captured on video by an in-cab CCTV camera. Driver Liam Moriarty parked the car and decided to rest. He took the tablet and leaned back in his seat. At that moment, an electronic cigarette flashed in his back pocket.
The man immediately jumped out of the car and began to put out the fire that had started, as the fire spread to the seat. “The mechanism that reclines the seat jammed the battery - I was just unlucky. There was a loud hissing sound, I raised my head, a flame burst out and burned my elbow,” Moriarty explained.
He managed to quickly knock down the flames and extinguish it with a fire extinguisher. The man's injuries were not serious. He admitted that he was more worried about the safety of the truck, as he would have to pay £130,000 if it burned down.
