Magic tricks are something that almost everyone enjoys. They evoke awe and wonder. The great magician blurs the line between reality and mysticism, leaving viewers wondering if he has supernatural powers. However, an explanation has already been found for all these tricks.

1. Zigzag girl

A staple of magic shows, the zigzag box never fails to mesmerize audiences. In this illusion, the magician places an assistant in a vertical box with three sections. When closing the box, the magician moves the middle section to the side, creating the illusion of dismemberment. Fortunately, this does not happen: the flexible girl adjusts her body while maintaining the position of an upright person. It is worth noting that the boundaries of the internal space are actually larger than they seem.

2. Rabbit in a hat

This trick originated in the early 1800s and became a symbol of illusionism. The magician begins by displaying an empty hat on the table. To the amazement of the audience, a live rabbit magically emerges from it. Behind the illusion is a well-camouflaged installation - a table with a door covered with a long tablecloth. The hat also has a secret hole. Through them the magician gets the rabbit.

3. Walking on water

This is not a biblical miracle, but just walking on small platforms made of plexiglass. Despite the mysticism, the trick has a logical explanation, captivating the audience with a carefully choreographed action.

4. Swallowing swords

In any circus, spectators are treated to a spectacle - a sword swallower. The brave artist throws his head back and slowly lowers the sword into the throat, remaining unharmed. Unlike other illusions, this unique act requires true skill; there is no sleight of hand involved. It takes years of training in the neck and upper esophageal sphincter to get the weapon within millimeters of vital organs.

5. The disappearance of the Statue of Liberty

In 1983, the world's greatest illusionist, David Copperfield, made the Statue of Liberty disappear. In fact, while speaking to 20 tourists on Liberty Island, Copperfield hid the monument behind a curtain. At the appointed moment, the lighting of the statue turned off, a white cloth lowered, and the two remaining spotlights began to cross the “empty” space. But even here there was a trick: the spotlights were installed in front of the statue, and not on the sides.

6. Coin

Street magicians often entertain tourists with the trick of biting off a coin. At first the viewer is invited to try, but nothing works. Then the wizard easily bites through the coin. Imperceptibly, a replacement occurs for an analogue designed to break under pressure.

7. Sawing in half

On stage, the trick unfolds like this: the assistant lies in a box, sawn in half. Surprisingly, the girl remains unharmed. The public does not realize that the box consists of two parts and that there are actually two girls.

8. Spoon bending

In bending the spoon, illusionists are helped by a special alloy, which takes a given shape at a temperature of 20 to 50 degrees. Quite a simple trick, but requires props.

9. Coin in a glass

The magician, with visible effort, pushes a coin through an ordinary, stubborn glass. With each touch, he subtly adjusts his grip until the coin is hidden in his hand. With a quick, imperceptible toss, the coin flies into the glass, leaving the audience in amazement.

10. Levitation of a glass

The magician takes the glass and lets it go, but it does not fall. Levitation is created using a regular fishing line, not telekinesis.

11. Turning water intoice

The magician pours water into the cup and voila - the water instantly turns into ice. The secret of this simple trick is that a sponge is hidden at the bottom of the glass under pre-prepared ice. To preserve the magic of the illusion, the sponge must match the color of the glass.

12. Pigeons

Another classic of the genre. The magician announces the imminent appearance of a dove. The revelation is accompanied by a sudden flash of light and a loud bang. In reality, these effects serve to distract attention. The artist quietly pulls the bird out of a secret pocket. And again sleight of hand and one obedient pigeon.

13. Levitating street performer

The man seems to be suspended in the air, sits cross-legged, and leans on a staff. It's all about a cunning design: under the robe there is a narrow seat that is connected to a staff, which is attached to a platform hidden under the carpet.
