In the 70s, this bright girl often appeared on screens. This is understandable: even without outstanding vocal abilities, she captivated listeners with the special timbre and expressiveness of her voice, accessible to French women. And then she disappeared.





Claudine Longet was born in Paris in 1942. In 1961 she moved to the States and met the star Andy Williams, a TV presenter, actor and singer. They merried. But neither the years of marriage nor the birth of children helped save the family. However, good relations remained even after the divorce, when each of the former spouses went their own way.

For Claudine, Spider became a new stage. This is what Vladimir Sabich (1942-1976) was called by his father for his long and skinny limbs. However, the physiological feature helped the boy. “Spider” Sabich is an American alpine skier who took part in the 1968 Winter Olympics. Champion in cross-country skiing in 1971 and 1972 in the overall ranking of the Ski World Pro Tour. Subsequently, Vladimir will be called the richest ski racer. The athlete will become the prototype of the character in the film “Slope Racer.”

The couple met in a restaurant. A spark flashed between the athlete and the singer. They started dating. Claudine greatly supported her chosen one when the skier injured his spine on the slope and took a long time to recover.

"Spider" is back in the sport. Of course, he no longer reached his previous heights, but he continued to remain a famous athlete. Ladies of all ages have always paid attention to the attractive famous man. Therefore, attending parties and get-togethers turned into torture for Claudine. The police who responded to the call arrested the woman. But the sentence in the case of what the accused claimed was an accidental murder turned out to be simply paradoxical: 30 days in prison. Days, not years. And all because Claudine’s ex-husband got involved in the case. The singer's diary, seized as evidence, was not included in the case. The blood test in which cocaine was found was also a violation of the procedure. The inspection of the pistol (by the way, there were as many as three notches on the bullet) was carried out by a policeman who was not a weapons expert. It was also declared invalid.



The accusations collapsed like a house of cards. The showman hired the best lawyers to protect his ex-wife. And soon Claudine was released. However, freedom became a cage for her. His career fizzled out soon after the incident. Longe was left alone, despised and abandoned by everyone. Now in her ninth decade, the old woman lives in Aspen (Colorado), only occasionally going out to the store and feeling the contemptuous glances of rare resort guests, to whom she managed to tell an ambiguous but sad story.

After Sabich's death, The Rolling Stones wrote the song Claudine. Which the musicians, in order to avoid a scandal, did not include in any of the albums.
