As you know, one of the most famous and cult films with Jackie Chan is the comedy-adventure action film “Armor of God,” released in 1986, which, by the way, he also directed. Most of the surveyed readers of my channel noted that the film "Armor of God" is, in principle, the best film with Jackie Chan.

1. As Jackie Chan himself said, he took actress Lola Forner to play the role of May only because she had already starred with him in the films “Project A” and “Snack on Wheels.” And in general, this was the only European actress he knew.

Also, the famous action actress of the 80s, Cynthia Rothrock, could have appeared in the film, but due to Jackie Chan’s injury, which will be discussed later, the filming schedule was shifted, which is why Rothrock was no longer able to take part, since this At the time, she was scheduled to film another project.

2. As you know, Jackie Chan performs all his own stunts, even the most dangerous ones. And you can’t even count how many times he has been injured in his life, and whether there is at least one place on his body that has never been injured.

But it was the filming of “Armor of God” that almost cost him his life. Almost at the very beginning of the film, his hero jumps from a wall to a tree. And what’s most interesting is that this scene was a success and everything went well. But Jackie decided to re-shoot the scene and jumped from the wall onto the tree again.

It would be better if he didn’t do this, because during re-shooting, the branch on which Jackie jumped broke, causing the actor-director to fall from a height of five meters, hitting his head on a stone.

The injury was so severe that doctors claimed that he had a greater chance of dying than surviving, since his brain was affected. Nevertheless, Jackie managed to survive and began to recover. The damaged part of the skull was replaced with a special plug.

But despite the fact that Jackie managed to get out of this situation, the injury affected his hearing. The actor heard practically nothing in his right ear.

And due to the fact that his voice was “adorned” by a huge scar, he was advised to grow his hair so that this feature would not be noticeable. That is why at the beginning of the film Jackie appears with a short haircut, and then it suddenly changes to a long one.

3. In general, Jackie Chan always wore his hair long, but for the filming of the film “Armor of God” he decided to cut his hair short for the first time. Well, as I already said, after the injury he grew his long hair again. And for a long time he wore his long hair, deciding that it brought him good luck.

4. For distribution in English-speaking countries, Jackie Chan was dubbed by local dubbing actors. But by the time of filming the second part, Jackie had improved his English quite well and was already voicing his character for the English version.

4. In the episode of Jackie's fight with 4 girls, at some points they were replaced by disguised men from Jackie Chan's stunt team. And if you look really hard, you can see a substitution.

5. Jackie Chan turned out to be not only an actor, director and stuntman, but also a singer. Songs such as "High Upon High" and "Friend of Mine", which we can hear in the film, are performed by Jackie Chan and Alan Tam, who played the role of Alan.

5. In the American box office, the second part of the film was released earlier than the first, so the distributors called it not “Armor of God 2”, but “Operation Condor 2: Armor of God”.

6. The photographer who is killed during a fashion show used the famous Soviet Zenit camera, or rather its export version.

7. During the scene of Laura's rescue, she calls him "Kunsan". Interestingly, this is actually Jackie Chan's name. This is the name given to him at birth.

8. If we convert it into dollars, the film’s budget was a fabulous $15 million for Hong Kong cinema. But the exact amount of box office receipts is unfortunately unknown.

9. When creating the animated series “The Adventures of Jackie Chan,” the authors based their image on his image from the film “Armor of God.”

10. The Hong Kong version of the film is 11 minutes longer than the American version. Some scenes were cut for American release.

11. The car Jackie drives is a Mitsubishi Colt Targa Concept. This car was created in a single copy specifically for the film. And in general, Jackie is a fan of this car brand.

Mitsubishi cars were constantly used in Jackie Chan's films. And even when Jackie’s contract with this company expired, he still remained loyal to the brand. His personal car collection includes many Mitsubishi cars.
