Rimac Nevera set a new speed record when driving in reverse - 275 km/h (2 photos + 1 video)
The Croatian electric hypercar Rimac Nevera has already set a whole mountain of records. This time he set a record for speed in reverse. The car reached a speed of 275.74 km/h. The previous record belonged to the Caterham 7 Fireblade sports car, which had held the lead since 2001 with a speed of 165 km/h.
The race took place at the German Automotive Testing Papenburg test site - the same place where Rimac Nevera set 23 speed records in one day this spring. The car was brought to the track in the Time Attack Edition livery - this is the name of the new special version of the coupe, limited to 12 copies, which debuted at the end of the summer.
Rimac says that they thought about Nevera’s record speed when moving in reverse even at the model development stage, but did not do anything specifically for this: the aerodynamic body kit and stabilization system do not have any special features to perform such a task.
