“Not Just Chandler”: Matthew Perry’s best roles (8 photos)

1 November 2023

Last Saturday, October 28, famous actor Matthew Perry passed away. The actor was 54 years old. Millions of fans, of course, remember him as the funny man Chandler Bing from Friends. It was this role that made 25-year-old Matthew a global star.

Unfortunately, his cheerful and charming on-screen persona was not at all the same as Perry in real life. Due to problems with alcohol and drug addiction, starting in 1997, he began to have complex health problems that did not go away throughout his life. He underwent a lot of complex operations, which significantly affected his condition, both physical and psychological. The actor fell into a deep depression, and his appearance... perhaps everyone remembers. As the actor himself admitted in one of his interviews, due to his problems with addiction, he does not remember his three years on the set of the series “Friends.”

So, according to the New York Post, Matthew Perry died at home in his Jacuzzi. The reason is cardiac arrest. According to the doctors, no drugs or alcohol were found in the body.

According to Matthew's friends, he could make anyone laugh, but, as is usually the case, behind the mask of a merry fellow there is a sad, deep and very vulnerable person. So was Robin Williams, who passed away in 2014. And perhaps the same can be said about Jim Carrey. But still, despite his short life, Perry left behind a rich legacy in cinema. Films and TV series with his participation will be watched for many years to come, and the actor will continue to make the audience laugh and delight.
